COVID Protocol Updates

The Springs Soccer Club COVID policies strictly adhere to the recommendations from the CDC. These policies and procedures are solely in the best interest of protecting the health and well-being of our players, parents, coaches, and families. These policies are required for training, games/tournaments (home and away), and any other club related activities. These policies will be updated continually as the data and recommendations from the CDC is constantly evolving.

Masks

•Masks must be worn by UNVACCINATED coaches at all times.

•Masks must be worn indoors at any Springs SC function (meeting or gathering) regardless of vaccination status.

 

•Masks are recommended for UNVACCINATED spectators of games in addition to separating yourself 6 feet apart from other individuals.

Exposures

• Parents/Guardians will be responsible for relating any COVID exposures or incidents on their individual teams/ training groups to the SSC Leadership. Please contact the club directly at info@SpringsSoccerClub.com.

• If you believe you have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 (within 6 ft of someone with COVID for a total of 15 minutes or more)...

◦VACCINATED - It is recommended that you self-quarantine right away. Then obtain a PCR test 3-5 days after exposure. Please send results to the SpringsSoccerClub@gmail.com. If negative, you may return to play. If you have symptoms or test positive, isolate for 10 days.

◦ UNVACCINATED - quarantine immediately. Then get a PCR test on day 5. If negative, you may come out of quarantine after day 7. If you do not get tested, you may come out of quarantine after day 14. If you test positive, isolate for 10 days

Domestic airline travel -

◦ VACCINATED - self monitor for symptoms. No testing or quarantine is required. Test/quarantine if you become symptomatic.

◦ UNVACCINATED - get a PCR test 3-5 days after you land. You must quarantine for a full 7 days. If you don't get tested, quarantine for a full 10 days. If positive, isolate for 10 days.

• International travel - 

◦ VACCINATED - self monitor for symptoms. Get a PCR test 3-5 days after you land.

◦ UNVACCINATED - get a PCR test 3-5 days after you land. You must quarantine for a full 7 days. If you don't get tested, quarantine for a full 10 days. If positive, isolate for 10 days.

Each incident of exposure, infection, or travel will be reviewed by the COVID Committee and clearance to return to play will be determined based on timing of the events and/or presentation of Vaccination Card. If the player/parent prefers not to say if they are vaccinated or not, he/she will be regarded as unvaccinated.

We ask that you respect and adhere to our protocols, even if you disagree with them, as they reflect a great deal of time and consideration by our team. We will evaluate our COVID-19 mitigation protocols every few weeks as this situation continues to unfold and evolve, and we will continue to publish updates.

Reporting COVID-19 Exposure or Infection

It is imperative that our community is aware of the information below and follow these protocols so that we can all do our part in providing the safest possible environment at each SSC training facility. 

If your player has been exposed to an infected person or has tested positive for COVID-19, we ask that you please report this directly to SSC as soon as reasonably possible. If you are currently quarantining due to exposure or confirmed diagnosis and will SSC team training, please fill out the appropriate report. We assure you that your privacy will be protected and your medical information will remain confidential. 

COVID-19

Springs SC has developed the following Return to Play Protocols with input from federal agencies and government entities, member associations, health officials, medical professionals and consultants. This information is specific to our organization and may vary from other protocols you may encounter. The Club reserves the right to modify these protocols as needed.

 

We must be responsible and practice proper social distancing in an effort to prevent the transmission of COVID-19. These Return to Play Protocols are designed to provide a safe environment for all participants.


PLAYERS – RETURN TO PLAY PROTOCOLS

  • If you are not comfortable with returning to play at this time, you are not required to return. There is no penalty for delaying return to play. All players are welcome to return when they are comfortable. These protocols are in place to outline the manner in which we are making the opportunity available to utilize at YOUR discretion.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly for 20-30 seconds before and after every training session.
  • If you are coughing or sneezing do not participate.
  • Bring and use hand sanitizer throughout training sessions.
  • Bring plenty of water and your own soccer ball to each session. Ensure they are clearly labeled.
  • Wash and sanitize all equipment with CDC approved products and methods before and after every session.
  • Refrain from touching and sharing water, food, or equipment with other players to the greatest extent possible.
  • Maintain recommended social distance before, during and after sessions.
  • Place equipment in designated areas 6’ away from other players.
  • No high-fives, handshakes, knuckles, or other group celebrations/greetings will be permitted.
  • Gloves and masks not required but are allowed and recommended.

COACHING STAFF  – RETURN TO PLAY PROTOCOLS

  • The first priority will be to ensure the health and safety of all players. All players will be asked if they are experiencing any symptoms prior to participation.
  • Social distancing measures will be implemented. Coaching staff will create stations by placing cones 6’ (or more) apart for players to create individual areas for player equipment (bag/water/ball) .
  • Training sessions will be staggered/spaced out to limit interactions with other teams or groups.
  • Access to and handling of equipment will be limited. Coaching staff will set up and breakdown cones. Pinnies will not be utilized at this time.
  • After each session all shared equipment will be disinfected using CDC approved products and methods.
  • Coaching staff will maintain recommended social distance from players and other coaching staff.
  • Drills and planned sessions will be modified as needed to maintain the appropriate recommended social distancing measures.
  • Gloves are recommended.
  • Masks are mandatory.

PARENTS – RETURN TO PLAY PROTOCOLS

  • If you are not comfortable with returning to play at this time, you are not required to return. There is no penalty for delaying return to play. All players are welcome to return when they are comfortable. These protocols are in place to outline the manner in which we are making the opportunity available to utilize at YOUR discretion.
  • Please check your child’s temperature before coming to any training session and ensure that they feel well and are not presenting with any symptoms.
  • We recommend washing all clothing after every training session.
  • We recommend sanitizing all equipment with CDC approved products and methods before and after every session.
  • Notify coach and club immediately if your child becomes ill.
  • Ensure that your child has individual hand sanitizer, plenty of water, and their own soccer ball clearly labeled. The Club is unable to provide communal water stations at this time.
  • It is recommended that parents wear masks and gloves.
  • Maintain recommended social distance from players, parents and coaching staff.
  • Limit in person communication requests. When possible, communication should be done through email or telephone at this time.
